Exact Match Domains (EMD) are keyword domains that exactly match a keyword phrase people would type into search engines. It could be one word, two words, or more, but it always has to be an exact match of the keyword phrase that people are searching for. Because EMDs have a better chance of ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs), SEOers are very interested in them.
The most valuable keyword domains will be referred to as “Category Killer domains.” Because they are domains where the keywords are an exact match for an entire niche of product, offering, or service.

EMDs can also be divided into two main categories: short-tail and long-tail keywords. Short tail keywords are generally one-word phrases like “Aging,” while long tail keywords are more specific multi-word phrases such as “Store Near Me.”
It’s important to note that Exact Match Domains aren’t guaranteed to rank at the top of the SERPs, but they do have a higher chance of doing so if the domain has a high quality score, relevant backlinks, and is optimized for the given keyword. When buying an EMD, make sure that you’re investing in a domain with good metrics that is within your budget.
